No doubt cliched, it is all so true that you only live once. More importantly, that isn't the green light for you to embark on a death-defying journey to discover the so-called "true meaning" of life. On the contrary, caution must continually be exercised even with the knowledge that time is precious and irretrievable. But to know that each minute is bound to enter an abyss, lost and irrevocable regardless of whether you utilized that minute to its maximum efficacy. Take heed still, YOLO, but YODO too.

I think the fundamental philosophy is to do everything in life with a meaningful purpose and above all, perform things for yourself and not others. I'm not encouraging you to delve into an apathetic phase of seclusion and selfishness; bu always remember that when YOLO, you only live for yourself too. Don't do charity because society expects you to do so, don't support a cause because everyone else is doing so. Never do something because someone else is doing it, advocating it; only if you believe.

Take life within your stride and know that each step is yours to take so make it count. Taking a wrong step and retracting your step is never the same as deciding otherwise at that moment of deliberation. We all know time is short, and unlike unrealistic video games, our lives are limited to a petty one, but that doesn't mean we  ought to disregard rationality and just act on a hunch. No. You stop and think, because YOLO, and you don't want to screw that live up.

I hope then, that today you will change your philosophy to life. Life is a once in a lifetime (literally) experience but it is wrong to assume that you only have time to act without processing. Know what you're doing and be sure of it before you act on it. Sometimes, I lose myself on this dirt path but again, remember that albeit YOLO, you never live alone. Your life is a continuum with others and you will never walk alone.
