Through the looking glass
To see or not to see? A burning inquisition that perturbed me yesterday. Taking a different step, I decided to put on my glasses (semi-permanently, if that makes any sense) and to see the world more clearly, literally, really made me wonder--is it wise to be so perceptive?
Our world is a pitfall of traps and dead-ends, so much so that a decent path to enlightenment has become the road less traveled by. With premature exposure to the threatening realism of today, perhaps it may be a blessing to live in a vision of blur, to know less than you are supposed to, to conveniently shy away from temptations. After all, ignorance is bliss ain't it?
Theoretically. Everything is, really.
To be a realistic idealist or an idealistic realist? Adopting the persona of the latter is close to impossible and more often than not, we strive to be the former. We feed off our curiosity to become more realistic and to envision our own idealistic world, and it is the same spirit in our pursuit of knowledge that spurs us on, making the above argument invalid.
We all know it's always good to know less and in our current predicament, less is more; no news is good news. But we cannot hide forever. That is the sad but solemn truth we must embrace. Either we fight on or be fought on. Either way, we need a clearer picture and comprehension of the mess we have created.
I have decided to put my spectacles on, to uptake a more pervasive perspective of the world. A lens that breathes, a vision that speaks.
Are you brave enough to put your lenses on? Or will you live in denial forever?
See no evil. Just know it's there.
