What does T.G.I.F. mean to you today?
Life is short and to almost everything, the practical approach and universal principle is to maintain a constant pace at which we tackle our agenda--more often that not, this speed is greater than what we can normally manage and thus more haste, less speed. In fact, sometimes tarrying may not necessarily be such a bad idea.
I can't wait for _____ A common statement, and perhaps even dictum, for many. And yet if we take further consideration (if we actually have the time to or at the very least bother to) then we realize we actually don't want that particular thing to pass that quickly. Time is minimal and our days are numbered--why then do we want anything to pass us by faster than it should? To push the pain away will only bring us closer to the next bout of suffering which we nevertheless have to endure. Fate has aligned us with trials that we cannot evade and if we think about how short time really is, I'm pretty sure we all don't mind treading slower through the thorny bushes. To endure a little pain is nothing, if it means slowing down our journey towards the endless cliff.
Truth be told, we are but walking towards death and whatever road or detour we may decide to undergo will eventually lead us back to the hanging cliff; the decisive moment where suddenly "time immemorial" ceases to exist and you wish you had walked slower.
Slooooower.
I had thought T.G.I.F. meant "This Garbage is Forever". But frankly, I wish that JIP would extend as long as it could for only heaven knows what lurks ahead--2 years of relentless studying and constant distractions.
T.G.I.F. truly.
