I tried to pull myself off the creaky mattress but I could barely twitch a muscle. Worst still, a force was pushing against my will, obviously working in cahoots with gravity. I gave another shot of strength but only a hint of movement was detected. I lay back to the ground, staring overhead at nothingness. The hoards of treasure stashed away in the crate next to me became aware of my failure to react and it slowly slipped away into the shadows of the sun. A nightmarish week has finally left my sorrows. The weekend is here and yet something harps my conscience.
