Those two words pretty much sums up my day, well not so much of the shopping part but the day was definitely spontaneous to the max. It began on a rather clumsy note with me waking up late due to yet another sleepless night (despite cutting my beautiful afternoon nap ><) and I had to rush down to pasir ris with Khai Sheng where we were rendezvousing with Gabriel. Turns out we were much earlier than him, technically he was just late but... Anyway, we boarded the first bus to peacehaven nursing home and had a really nice chat on the bus. Has been a while since I had such a hearty chat with fellow scouts. Most of the time we're just at the movies, lanning, etc. Not much quality time spent together so it was a rather refreshing ride. We were so engrossed in our conversation that we missed our stop and was almost stranded on the highway. Thankfully, we merely overshot by 1 stop and made it to the Salvation Army building.
We were lost.
Already?
Yes.
Anyway, after much wandering about the place, our minds more fixated on the content of Epic Movie which Gabriel so vividly described, we ended up at the right doorstep, entering the nursing home. To our surprise, the liaison (finally know how to spell this word without spell check :D) was rather hasty and easily settled within 15-20 minutes. We were bracing for an hour long discussion or so but I guess that was slightly over exaggerated. That left us trying to search for a food point and then we were lost again. Not knowing any other viable options, we headed back to pasir ris bus interchange and grabbed a quick bite. Somehow the three of us had the craving for oyster vegetables (:O) and we grabbed that as a side dish as well :D Then it was off to cycling, the major event of the day.
And then we were really lost.
Again?
Yes. For about 45mins.
We started off trying to search for a way to get to pasir ris park, initially with the notion of hiking there. That brought back frightful memories of the first class hike which I was unfortunately absent from so we decided to look for mobile transport instead. That lead us to bus 403 which apparently went to 'Pasir Ris Town Park', which we assumed to be the park we were searching for. Before boarding the bus, we did the usual formalities of asking if it really went to Pasir Ris park and how many stops it will take. The uncle smartly or sarcastically (haven't really deduced that yet) replied "过大海就到"... like wtbong. According to the directory, it was only one stop so going with our soon-to-fail intuition, we stopped at the first stop. To our horror, it was a random commercial park aimed at fleecing people to rent fishing equipment and well, fish..
And we turned our heads back to find that the mrt was but a stone's throw back and what a wasted ride it was. The bad news, we waited about 7mins for it to come... And so we went all the way back to the interchange, flocking from mrt to bus interchange intermittently before we finally decided to go to bishan park once and for all. After an arduous journey and short hike to the park, that was undergoing a gigantic renovation for the kallang river to be introduced to the park (like seriously, they want people kayaking in the middle of the part or people drowing??)
And for a moment, we were considered lost.
You must be joking. Really?
Yes.
No.
Yes!
0.o ok..
so we finally found the kiosk to rent bicycles and it was a scam.. $8 for first hour! but Gabriel and Khai Sheng were desperate to recover their cycling skills before our expedition on Thursday and thankfully we did. They weren't really good at the beginning but after much practice, they really did themselves proud. Hope the cycling trip on thursday will go smoothly..
And then we left for the nearest mall, AMK hub. The bus journey on 133 was simply put, literally shaky. Like forever...
We hanged around at the mall for about 45 mins, talking about random stuff and discussing about the phenomenon when girls shop. All their eyes fixed on discounts or branded items and the revolting idea of window shopping. We decided to call our time there 'spontaneous shopping', being carefree and roaming about, unlike girls who window shop, we do it cooler :D
Then we grabbed some really expensive but delicious prata before breaking off with a cup of bubble tea each.
Thanks for so much fun.
It's been a while since I bothered recounting entire events of the day on the blog :D
And when the united states of pop lingered in my ear drums,
I remembered the initial days when my heart starting beating for you.
And I can only remember that it's going to be a year soon and I still can't get over you...
I have loved you for as long as I can recall
And the longest I can recall
