And indeed, I have, as promised, returned from the harsh reality and sunk within the ruins of fantasy and freedom which I source after. It was larger than I expected, much more impactful and interesting, a surprise I would die many times for. It was yet another expedition with the scout trio and we ventured back into the fond memories of the barrage at marina bay. It was a long but untedious journey to our destination because our love kept each other company. It was over in minutes and we were off, choosing a kite which proved to be quite a dilemma. After callously picking an empty kite, we went on to decorate it using our heartfelt thoughts and it simply represents our dreams and unity as scouts and friends. We soon took off into the real action, to become full-fledged kite runners and soar into the wind, ascending higher with each gust of wind, and our spirits elevated simultaneously. It was a short experience despite the 2-3 hours we spent there but time really disappears when you're enjoying, especially with your closest comrades.
We proceeded to dinner at Lau Pa Sat and had satay, which took eons to arrive, char kway teow, fishball noodles and even chendol. It was a foodfest that cost countless calories but it was not the diet or the food satisfaction, it was the warmth of sharing this joy with your friends.
I long for such a day again, and so it will come.. but my time in boarding is depleting rapidly--I must grasp hold of time and utilize it to the maximum.. Till then, I bade goodbye to the kites that roam the blue skies--"I will be back!"
Will the friendship ever break? Perhaps--when oxymorons exist
